A C-Clamp is of necessity for the Pinker and Sewhandy to work properly because it needs to be securely fastened to a table for the crank to turn freely without the pinker and machine shifting

A proper thumb or presser bar screw is necessary

it is assumed that you already have the original and Complete Tune-up Kit for proper grease

Do not use a regular thumbscrew - you can see the difference in design as shown in the photograph above
